Who’s the top person on Google’s new social network?
According to rankings from beta-service Social Statistics, Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg is the most popular person on Google +, followed by Google CEO Larry Page.
As of time of writing, 34,759 people had included the Facebook exec in their circles; 23,633 had listed CEO Larry Page as a connection.
Zuckerberg hasn’t put any information on his Google + profile apart from a picture and the personal description, “I make things.”
Zuckerberg has 4,619,955 followers on Facebook; Page doesn’t appear to have a Facebook profile — at least in his own name.
Other high-ranking Google + users include the network’s lead engineer Vic Gundrota, Google fo-founder Sergey Brin, tech evangelist Robert Scoble and a collection of tech journalists, Google execs and Google employees.
Another interesting tidbit: Social Statistics’ metrics say that Google + is 10 percent female, 88 percent male and 2 percent other.
